In the heart of Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, the recent torrential rains were not just a passing weather event — they became a true humanitarian disaster.
Flash floods swept away homes, dreams, and memories, leaving thousands of families displaced, struggling to survive amid wreckage and stagnant waters.
Why This Project?
With fragile infrastructure and the absence of proper drainage systems, Sanaa’s streets turned into muddy rivers that invaded residential areas, flooded homes, and destroyed belongings.
Families lost almost everything and now face the threat of disease, food shortages, and lack of shelter.
Project Objectives
Provide emergency aid including food, clean water, blankets, and hygiene kits to affected families.
Support the rehabilitation of damaged homes and offer temporary shelter to displaced families.
Promote community awareness on disaster preparedness and disease prevention related to floods.
How We Work
Through coordination with local partners and relevant authorities, we:
Distribute food baskets and clean water to affected households.
Provide hygiene supplies to reduce the risk of disease outbreaks.
Offer psychosocial support to affected families, especially children and women.
Contribute to repairing damaged homes or arranging temporary housing where needed.
Target Group
Families whose homes were severely damaged or destroyed by the floods in Sanaa, especially low-income households, children, the elderly, and pregnant women.
